Book Club members met to discuss their June read, “News of the World” by Paulette Jiles, which was voted Texas’ Great Read of 2017 at the National Book Festival. Members of the book club agreed this is a must read. Thanks goes to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) for sending us copies of the special newspaper pamphlet that promotes and highlights this book.

Come read it for yourself, we have extra pamphlets too!

You can learn more about this book by going to https://www.tsl.texas.gov/greatreadtexas

Our local book club meets once a month on the 2nd Monday of the month at 12:15 at the library to discuss that month’s book. Bring your lunch and join us!

This is a free club for anyone ages 18+. We ask that you do not bring your children to these meetings.

Books are selected by the group one month in advance and we get copies in via Inter Library Loans, you don’t have to buy your own copy.

You are welcome to come in and sign up at any time! You can sit in on a meeting even if you haven’t read that book.

For any questions, contact your librarian at 806-455-1225 or email the librarian [email protected].
